The Raiders took down the Hawks 41-22 on Friday. The game was the first time the Raiders have beaten the Hawks on their field since October 8, 2021.
Josef Walker went supernova, throwing for 197 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes, while also rushing for 35 yards and one score. Jaydann Hollins also helped with two TDs in total.

Jackson Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out Ethan Elliott. 8.5 times. Leading the way was TJ White with four sacks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 6 total tackles per game. Dereon Albert was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks, forcing one fumble, and making ten total tackles.
Meanwhile, Madison-Ridgeland Academy blew past Jackson Prep, posting a 49-21 victory. Madison-Ridgeland Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 25 points or more this season.
Madison-Ridgeland Academy had a senior duo take command as Samuel Stockett threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.2 yards per attempt and Case Thomas picked up 200 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Thomas' longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. Colson O'Cain helped Stockett out on the ground, rushing for 98 yards and one TD on only ten carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Madison-Ridgeland Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 294 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jackson Prep only rushed for 156.
Madison-Ridgeland Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Jackson Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
The upcoming matchup will be a clash of competing strengths. Jackson Academy has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 188.8 rushing yards a game.
