TEACH's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. Their rough 65-42 loss to Denbigh Baptist Christian might stick with them for a while. TEACH was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Denbigh Baptist Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.
TEACH's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Reeves, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Those five blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Nikolas Neuhofer , who scored six points along with 15 rebounds and five blocks.
Denbigh Baptist Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was William Showalter, who scored 19 points. Joshua Kinney was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
TEACH bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Denbigh Baptist Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. TEACH will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Norfolk Christian at 4:00 p.m. on January 9th. Hopefully Norfolk Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday. As for Denbigh Baptist Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Broadwater Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Broadwater Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
