The James F. Byrnes Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Riverside Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. James F. Byrnes has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 432 points over their last six contests.
Last Saturday, James F. Byrnes blew past South Pointe, posting a 67-31 victory on the road. Given James F. Byrnes' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while South Pointe is ranked 190th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
James F. Byrnes' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Fowler, who scored 11 points. The contest was Fowler's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kayzzin McDowell, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Riverside's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were dealt a 61-32 loss at the hands of Dorman. Riverside has not had much luck with Dorman recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
The losses dropped James F. Byrnes to 4-2 and South Pointe to 1-6.
James F. Byrnes and Riverside were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting on Thursday, but James F. Byrnes came up empty-handed after a 63-62 defeat. Can James F. Byrnes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
