Seventy-First is on a 17-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Northern Nash is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Seventy-First Falcons will take on the Northern Nash Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Seventy-First has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 372 points over their last eight matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Seventy-First had no problem doing just that on Friday. They managed a 32-27 win over the Patriots. Seventy-First's win was all the more impressive since Southern Alamance was averaging only 16.57 points allowed on the season.
Deandre Nance was his usual excellent self, rushing for 190 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Nance has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, Northern Nash can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Havelock 42-21. Northern Nash's victory was all the more impressive since Havelock was averaging only 14.14 points allowed on the season.
Their wins bumped Seventy-First to 14-0 and Southern Alamance to 12-2.
Seventy-First and Northern Nash were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but Seventy-First came up empty-handed after a 23-22 defeat. Thankfully for Seventy-First, Keno Jones (who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 146 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
