Baseball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

If Heritage was riding high fresh off their 14-0 takedown of Knightdale last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Heritage fell just short of the D.H. Conley Vikings by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. The Huskies were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Andrew Briganti made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Abbe, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Heritage moved to 7-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for D.H. Conley, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Coming up, Heritage will take on Southern Lee at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Southern Lee's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Heritage's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for D.H. Conley, they will challenge New Bern at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Bern will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something D.H. Conley surely won't give up without a fight.
