The Marietta Blue Devils entered their tilt with the East Paulding Raiders with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Marietta took their contest at home on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 64-17 victory over East Paulding. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-7.
Marietta got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayla Day out in front who scored 20 points along with six steals. Day is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Elisa Malone was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Marietta is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for East Paulding, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Marietta will square off against Wekiva at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Wekiva focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Saturday. As for East Paulding, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Paulding at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Paulding presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Paulding in Georgia (North Paulding is ranked 23rd, while East Paulding is ranked 409th).
