The Ellendale Cardinals had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 66-55 win over Enderlin. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Enderlin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aspyn Schlecht. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Eve Chamberlin, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Ellendale's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Enderlin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellendale will take on Wyndmere at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Enderlin, they will head out on the road to face off against Hillsboro/Central Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
