The Center Line Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Mott Marauders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Center Line will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Sterling Heights on Wednesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Stallions with a sharp 22-9 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Stallions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Dylan Fenger made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and one RBI. Center Line is 4-1 when Fenger posts two or more runs, but 3-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, Cruz Santiago was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Center Line's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-9 when he doesn't). Austin Manley also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Center Line kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Mott entered their tilt with Hazel Park on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Vikings.
Mott let Lucas Wypiszewski and Ryan Evangelista run wild. Wypiszewski went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, while Evangelista got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kevin Barden, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Mott's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Center Line, their record is now 7-10.
Center Line took their win against Mott when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 19-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
