The Rio Rancho Rams extended their postseason success on Friday against the Sandia Matadors. They blew past the Matadors, posting a 38-6 win on the road. With Rio Rancho ahead 24-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Rio Rancho was led to victory by Rayce Ramirez and Jj Arellano. Ramirez rushed for 75 yards and three touchdowns, while Arellano rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Arellano really tore up the turf during one magnificent 84-yard run.
Rio Rancho is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Sandia, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.
Rio Rancho will take on Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cleveland is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Sandia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
