After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Thomas Jefferson, the Far Northeast W Warriors were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They skirted past Manual 45-43. This was payback for Far Northeast W, who suffered a 57-41 loss the last time these two teams met.
Far Northeast W's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Yaretzi Barraza, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Barraza is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jada Spiller was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Far Northeast W's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Manual, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Far Northeast W has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Denver North at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for Manual, they will head out on the road to face off against DSST: Cedar at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. DSST: Cedar will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
