Basketball Recap: Colleton Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Colleton Prep Academy lost against Thomas Heyward Academy last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks fell 55-45 to the Thomas Heyward Academy Rebels.

Despite the loss, Colleton Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Mateo Castillo, who posted 21 points and five assists. Castillo's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Braeden Hiers was another key player, putting up nine points.

Colleton Prep Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colleton Prep Academy will face off against Orangeburg Prep at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bethesda Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Thomas Heyward Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three contests.
