Baseball Recap: Kane Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Kane extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 6-3 in the process. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Bradford Owls. This was a revenge game for the Wolves: when they faced off against the Owls back in March, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Brock Wensel was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Eric Novosel and Kyle Zook did most of the damage at the plate: Novosel went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while Zook went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Novosel has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played.

As for Bradford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Like Kane, Bradford also got a great game from a two-way player: Anthony Lama. He pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lama was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Lama wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maksim Demic, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Coming up, Kane will be playing in front of their home fans against Brockway at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bradford, they will head out to take on Clearfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
