Westover was the  17-16 winner over Monroe when they last played one another  back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Westover Patriots fell just short of the Monroe Golden Tornadoes by a score of  16-15 on Tuesday. The Patriots have now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Amaiya Jones stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of her six plate appearances.  Savanna Adams was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 4-for-6.
 Even though they lost, Westover  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with nine  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 Westover's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Monroe,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 2-11-1.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westover will take on Bainbridge at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. Westover knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Bainbridge likes a good challenge. As for Monroe, they will be staying on the road  on Thursday to face off against Dougherty at 5:30  p.m.
