The Philip Scotties fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Jones County Coyotes on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coyotes. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Philip has scored all season.
Jones County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaden Kinsley out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jett Nix was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Philip's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Jones County, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Philip won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hill City at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Jones County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wall at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Wall is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.8 points per game.
