Baseball Recap: Jackson Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

Jackson Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-3 margin over the Sparta Academy Warriors. Considering the Eagles have won three matches by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Jones and Huntley Dees did most of the damage at the plate: Jones scored three runs while going 2-for-2, while Dees scored three runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in runs. Landon Jordan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Jackson Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Jackson Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sparta Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
