Baseball Recap: Cary-Grove Has No Trouble Against Crystal Lake South

Cary-Grove had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Crystal Lake South on Monday. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Gators. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Cary-Grove got a great performance from Kaden Norman as he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. Norman has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Peyton Seaburg was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last ten matchups. Another player making a difference was Keenan Krysh, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Cary-Grove has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Crystal Lake South, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-11.

Coming up, Cary-Grove will be playing in front of their home fans against Dundee-Crown at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Crystal Lake South, they will square off against Jacobs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
