Even though the Walker Valley Mustangs scored an imposing 69 points on Tuesday, the Silverdale Academy Seahawks still came out on top. Silverdale Academy took down Walker Valley 84-69. The win made it back-to-back wins for Silverdale Academy.
Leading Silverdale Academy to victory were Brett Wright and Kennedy Okpara. Wright scored 29 points, while Okpara dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Judah Richardson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Silverdale Academy's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Walker Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silverdale Academy will take on Grace Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Grace Baptist Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 400th, while Silverdale Academy is ranked 44th). As for Walker Valley, they will be playing at home against Rhea County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rhea County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Walker Valley likes a good challenge.
