The Wade Hampton Generals were the 45-35 winner over the Mauldin Mavericks when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Wade Hampton took a serious blow against Mauldin on Tuesday, falling 71-41. While losing is never fun, Wade Hampton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Mauldin is ranked second).
Delilah Soltys was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 10 rebounds for Mauldin. The contest was Soltys' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zara Leamon, who scored 12 points.
Wade Hampton now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Mauldin, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Wade Hampton will be playing at home against Powdersville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mauldin, they will head out on the road to face off against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
