The Hubbard Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the Riesel Indians at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
After a string of three wins, Hubbard's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 55-43 to Bremond. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hubbard in their matchups with Bremond: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Riesel strolled past Mart with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 57-41. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Riesel.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riesel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matthew Hawkins, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Hawkins continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Schroeder, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Hubbard's defeat dropped their record down to 17-13. As for Riesel, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-15.
Hubbard strolled past Riesel in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 51-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hubbard since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
