The Briarwood Academy Buccaneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Mead Hall Episcopal School with a sharp 55-33 win on Thursday. The win was just what Briarwood Academy needed coming off of a 76-48 defeat in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Sam Mock, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The matchup was his 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Pickens, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Briarwood Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Mead Hall Episcopal School, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Briarwood Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Westminster Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Westminster Christian Academy has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17. As for Mead Hall Episcopal School, they will head out on the road to face off against Laurens Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
