The Kamiakin Braves will take on the Walla Walla Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kamiakin is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
Kamiakin will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Richland, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Braves won by a run and slipped past the Bombers 3-2. That's two games straight that the Braves have won by just one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Walla Walla). They blew past Sageview 27-15 on Thursday.
Emily Meliah was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Walla Walla let Brooklyn White and Elyse Ocanaz run wild. White went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Ocanaz went a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those four runs gave White a new career-high. Mady Olivares was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and three RBI.
Walla Walla hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Kamiakin's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Walla Walla, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
Everything went Kamiakin's way against Walla Walla in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Kamiakin made off with a 13-0 victory. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
