The South Vermillion Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 61 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-61 to West Vigo. South Vermillion has not had much luck with West Vigo recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
South Vermillion lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aden Wallace, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Wallace hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Brayson Shoults, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
South Vermillion's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for West Vigo, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
South Vermillion will head out on the road to face off against Greencastle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greencastle knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully South Vermillion likes a good challenge. As for West Vigo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Indian Creek at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
