Bright Star (Los Angeles, Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat East Valley (North Hollywood, Calif.), 40-10, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Edo Attah to
David Tapia in the second quarter, Bright Star led 20-10 at the half.
BS expanded its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. The Los Angeles school scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Attah to
Jhonny Giron.
Bright Star's most effective player was Attah. He threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.
The Falcon's lone touchdown came on a pass in the first quarter.
BS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 56-34.
In a non-conference game next week East Valley (2-2) takes on Annenberg, and Bright Star (2-1) will go up against Discovery also in a non-conference game.
