Summit Academy had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 4-14 to make it five. They came up short against the American Leadership Academy Eagles, falling 17-7. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 6-2 in the first period.

Talin Hill put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, Sebastian Rojas was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
As for American Leadership Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-16. That looming 17-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.
Like Summit Academy, American Leadership Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Justus Brost. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. Brost was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, American Leadership Academy let Gaige Morgan and Mason Bullock run wild. Morgan got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Bullock got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Morgan has become a key player for American Leadership Academy: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Memphis Butler, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Summit Academy has already played their next matchup, a 12-6 defeat against Providence Hall on the 28th. As for American Leadership Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-5 loss against Judge Memorial Catholic on the 28th.
