In what's become a running theme this season, Highland gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They put the hurt on Queen Creek with a sharp 62-40 victory. Given Highland's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Queen Creek is ranked 75th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Michael Johnson was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points. Another player making a difference was Ty Crandall, who scored 11 points.
Gilbert posted their biggest win since December 8, 2023 on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 57-36 margin over Queen Creek.
Highland has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Gilbert, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Highland strolled past Gilbert in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 55-38. Does Highland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gilbert turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
