Baseball Recap: Pleasant Grove's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Pleasant Grove won the last time they faced Midfield and things went their way on Saturday too. The Pleasant Grove Spartans put the hurt on the Midfield Patriots with a sharp 21-2 victory. Considering the Spartans have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Pleasant Grove let Tre'Mell Washington and Kenyon Gunn run wild. Washington scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Gunn scored four runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Gunn has posted since back in March of 2024. Amaury Webster was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Pleasant Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Pleasant Grove's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4. As for Midfield, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Pleasant Grove and Midfield will both be playing Fultondale the next time they take the field. Pleasant Grove will head out to face Fultondale at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Midfield will play them later in the day, at 3:30 p.m.
