Calhoun put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the East Alton-Wood River Oilers with a sharp 13-3 victory. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 win the Oilers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

Jack Goode made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Goode was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Cooper Klocke was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jacob Snyders, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Calhoun was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .314 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Calhoun pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.7 runs this season. As for East Alton-Wood River, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhoun will venture away from home to challenge Staunton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Alton-Wood River, they will head out to square off against Lebanon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
