Deposit-Hancock waltzed into their game Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They skirted past Walton 51-49. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Deposit-Hancock has scored all season.
It was another big night for Blake Fortunato, who scored 35 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The match was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Thomas Reis was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Deposit-Hancock's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-2. As for Walton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deposit-Hancock's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sidney at 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for Walton, they will challenge Afton at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Afton comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
