It was a good run, but the McIntosh Demons unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Jackson 60-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jackson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Caster, who scored 20 points. The contest was Caster's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeyun Chapman, who scored eight points along with six blocks.
McIntosh's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2. As for Jackson, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
McIntosh will play host again and welcome Bryant, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Baldwin County at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
