It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the South Warren Spartans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Madisonville-North Hopkins at home to the tune of 50-12. Considering South Warren has won six contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Bryce Button continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 152 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
Despite the loss, Madisonville-North Hopkins still got an impressive performance from Kanyon Johnson, who rushed for 112 yards on only 11 carries, and also threw for 153 yards and a touchdown.
The victory was the third in a row for South Warren, bringing their record for this year to 9-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.33 points. As for Madisonville-North Hopkins, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
South Warren will head out on the road to face off against Owensboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Owensboro has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 312 points over their last six matchups. Madisonville-North Hopkins does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
