James Kenan (Warsaw, N.C.) received a huge boost from its defense against North Duplin (Calypso, N.C.), as the unit scored 12 in defeating North Duplin (Calypso, N.C.), 59-14.
After taking the lead on an
Al Owens touchdown run in the first quarter, the Tigers led 39-7 at the half.
Even though James Kenan led by 31 entering the fourth quarter, it poured the points on, scoring 12 in the quarter.
James Kenan's standout player in the win was
Marcelias Sutton. He ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
The Warsaw school came into the game allowing 11.0 points per game. The 14 points that the Rebels ended with were below their average of 18.3 coming into the game.
James Kenan (7-0) goes up against Lakewood in a 1A Conference 12 game matchup next week, while North Duplin (2-5) locks horns with Rosewood also in a 1A Conference 12 game.
