Huntington North is 0-3 against Carroll since April of 2023 but things could change on Wednesday. The Vikings will square off against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Monday, it was close, but Huntington North sidestepped Norwell for a 3-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.
Huntington North had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 20-25, 25-16, 25-13, 15-13.

Carter Smith was nothing short of spectacular: he had 28 digs and one assist. That's the most digs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Carroll faced Fort Wayne Snider in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Chargers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Panthers. Winning may never get old, but the Chargers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Carroll got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-20, 26-28, 25-19, 22-25, 15-12.
Carroll pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Huntington North, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3.
Huntington North couldn't quite get it done against Carroll in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
