The McConnellsburg Spartans had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They strolled past Tussey Mountain with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 65-47. That result was just more of the same for these two, as McConnellsburg also won the last time the pair played back in January.
McConnellsburg's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Ramsey, who scored 20 points along with 3 blocks. Another player making a difference was Drew Mellott, who scored 15 points.
McConnellsburg's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Tussey Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McConnellsburg will take on Fairfield at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tussey Mountain, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern Fulton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
