With a playoff game on the line, the Natick Redhawks rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against Franklin as Natick made off with a 42-20 victory. Considering Natick has won four games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Natick's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jesse Gagliardi led the charge by throwing for 270 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes. Another player making a difference was Arnold Kawere, who picked up 150 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Natick pushed their record up to 7-4 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.9 points per game. As for Franklin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Natick will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Framingham at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Franklin will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on King Philip Regional at 7:30 p.m. on November 21st.
