The Sullivan Golden Arrows waltzed into Friday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down North Putnam 51-37. Given Sullivan's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while North Putnam is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Sullivan to victory were Marcus Roshel and Cooper Bock. Roshel scored 15 points along with four steals, while Bock scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. The matchup was Bock's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Pirtle, who scored seven points.
Sullivan's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for North Putnam, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sullivan will be home for the holidays to greet Greencastle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Greencastle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday. North Putnam won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Parke Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on December 9th. Parke Heritage is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59 points per game.
