Van Horn is 8-2 against the Gryphons since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Van Horn Falcons will look to defend their home court against the University Academy Charter Gryphons at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
After soaring to 73 points the game before, Van Horn were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were beaten by Summit Christian Academy 54-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Van Horn has scored all season.
Meanwhile, University Academy Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 18th straight loss. They took a serious blow against St. Michael the Archangel, falling 62-31. While losing is never fun, University Academy Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 552nd, while the Guardians are ranked 138th).
Van Horn's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-15. As for University Academy Charter, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home.
Everything went Van Horn's way against the Gryphons when the teams last played last Friday as the Falcons made off with a 74-48 win. Will Van Horn repeat their success, or do the Gryphons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
