Newman International Academy waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 57-46 victory over the Nazarene Christian Academy Lions. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 50-47 loss the last time these two teams met.

Newman International Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Patrick Brown, who posted 11 points along with six boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Jason Shaffner, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 11 points.

Newman International Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Newman International Academy's record is now 5-3. As for Nazarene Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Newman International Academy will venture away from home to take on Newman International Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Nazarene Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Westlake Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 2.
