The Rock Creek Christian Academy Eagles will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Luella Lions at 2:10 p.m. on December 28th. Hopefully Rock Creek Christian Academy is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Luella in their respective states (Rock Creek Christian Academy is ranked 36th in Maryland, while Luella is ranked 350th in Georgia).
Rock Creek Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Central Carolina Prep on Friday as Rock Creek Christian Academy made off with a 89-63 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Luella pushed their score all the way to 68 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 75-68 to Jones County. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (66), Luella still had to take the loss.
Despite their defeat, Luella saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sayon Watkins, who scored 21 points, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that Watkins scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Wright, who scored 18 points.
Rock Creek Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Luella, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
