Softball Recap: Eustace Has No Trouble Against Quitman

Eustace made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Quitman, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Eustace was the clear victor by a 10-3 margin over Quitman on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Eustace considering their one-run performance the game before.

Madilyn Andrews made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abigail Warren, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Page Miller, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Eustace's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Quitman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Eustace and Quitman will both be playing Mineola the next time they take the field. Eustace will host Mineola at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Quitman will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
