The Overton Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 69-20 blowout they got at home against Alto. That looming 69-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Overton yet this season.
Kayla Nobles was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Overton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamiya O'neal, who scored 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
The win got Overton back to even at 9-9. As for Alto, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Overton will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Enterprise at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Alto, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Douglass at 6:00 p.m. Douglass' defense has only allowed 24.1 points per game this season, so Alto's offense will have their work cut out for Alto.
