The Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Patriots will head out to challenge the Hickory Christian Academy Knights at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy and NorthPoint Christian Academy had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Patriots lost 13-2 to the NightHawks on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Patriots couldn't push the score so high this time.

Evan Sears made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Hickory Christian Academy entered their tilt with Cornerstone Christian Academy on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They didn't even let the Crusaders on the board, marking their second-straight 13-0 shutout. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by eight runs or more this season.
Will Friar made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Friar was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Friar wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Samuel Yount, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, Yount posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.
Hickory Christian Academy's record now sits at 8-2. As for Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hickory Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
