The Myers Park Mustangs are ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Paul VI Panthers. Myers Park took a 78-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paul VI. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Saturday (60), Myers Park still had to take the loss.
Sir Mohammed and Sadiq White Jr. certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Mohammed scored 30 points along with 9 rebounds, while White Jr. scored 25 points along with 7 rebounds. Mohammed continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bishop Boswell, who scored 6 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals.
Myers Park's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Paul VI, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Myers Park will be playing at home against Palisades at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Palisades will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Myers Park is ranked 21st). As for Paul VI, they will square off against Sidwell Friends at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
