The Gilmer County Titans are taking a road trip to square off against the Roane County Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Gilmer County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Gilmer County barely beat Webster County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Titans put the hurt on the Highlanders with a sharp 10-4 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Lexington Grogg and Guage Goodrich did most of the damage at the plate: Grogg went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Goodrich went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Grogg a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Stewart, who earned one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Gilmer County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Roane County came up short against Scott on Wednesday and fell 9-4. The Raiders have struggled against the Skyhawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
J GREATHOUSE was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. A RICHARDSON also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Gilmer County's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Roane County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Everything went Gilmer County's way against Roane County when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Gilmer County made off with a 10-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
