Bonney Lake is 1-9 against Lincoln since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bonney Lake Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Abes at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bonney Lake entered their tilt with Spanaway Lake with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Bonney Lake simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Spanaway Lake 62-13 at home. Given Bonney Lake's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Spanaway Lake is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bonney Lake's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Izzy Meki, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Evin Elias, who scored 12 points.
Lincoln posted their biggest win yet this season on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 57-18 win over Mount Tahoma on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Lincoln has posted against Mount Tahoma since June 3, 2021.
Bonney Lake pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.78 points. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Bonney Lake strolled past Lincoln in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 49-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bonney Lake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
