The Clay Center Tigers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed by Hesston on the road to the tune of 47-6. Winning may never get old, but Clay Center sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Leading Clay Center to victory were Cole Pladson and Brody Hayes. Pladson rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while Hayes gained 145 total yards and three touchdowns.
Clay Center's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Hesston, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Clay Center will face off against Cheney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cheney's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. Hesston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
