Even though the Rome Wolves scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Creekview Grizzlies still came out on top. Creekview took their game against Rome 64-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Creekview.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Creekview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Finley Howard, who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals. Howard continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Amilya Taft (sy) was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Creekview's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Rome, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Creekview will square off against Sequoyah at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sequoyah will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Creekview surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rome, they will head out on the road to square off against River Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. River Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Rome likes a good challenge.
