The North Callaway Thunderbirds lost against the Hallsville Indians two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. North Callaway had to suffer through a rough 77-47 loss at the hands of Hallsville. While losing is never fun, North Callaway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while Hallsville is ranked 30th).
Loss or not, North Callaway got some senior leadership from Sam Pezold who scored 15 points along with five steals and Isiah Craighead who scored 18 points. Pezold scored a full 31.9% of North Callaway's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Erik Blair, who scored four points.
This is the second loss in a row for North Callaway and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Hallsville, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
North Callaway will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Callaway at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Hallsville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Moberly at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Hopefully Moberly focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Friday.
