After flying high against the Mission Eagles on Tuesday, the Los Fresnos Falcons came back down to earth. Los Fresnos fell 55-48 to Port Isabel on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Los Fresnos has scored all season.
Los Fresnos' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gio Galvan, who scored 15 points along with four steals, and Jj Salazar who scored 15 points. The game was Galvan's 21st in a row with at least ten points. Seth Jones was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Los Fresnos has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-5 record this season. As for Port Isabel, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.
Los Fresnos will be home for the holidays to greet Roma at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roma is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Port Isabel, they will head out on the road to face off against Zapata at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Zapata is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
