This season hasn't been kind to the Shelton Gaels, who are still winless after their sixth match. They took a 43-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Amistad on Wednesday.
LaShaya Patterson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Amistad, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. The game was Patterson 's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnae McFadden, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Shelton bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.4 points per game. As for Amistad, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Shelton will head out on the road to face off against Career Magnet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amistad will finish 2023 at home by hosting Woodstock Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
