The Pinellas Park Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 61-33 loss at the hands of East Lake. Pinellas Park has not had much luck with East Lake recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
East Lake's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kierra Pitts, who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Amanda Egipciaco, who scored 13 points.
Pinellas Park's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for East Lake, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinellas Park won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Petersburg at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. St. Petersburg is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for East Lake, they will head out on the road to face off against Sunlake at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
